Dear Jeff,
Our trip to South Africa and the two weeks we stayed at Mount Amanzi Lodge was incredible!
When my wife and I arrived at the lodge we were personally greeted by the Gen. Mgr. Petier Brouer and one of his senior
staff. A huge gift basket and a welcoming card awaited us as we entered our chalet. After freshening up we were treated to a light lunch at the neat and spacious on sight restaurant, followed by an orientation "walk around" tour of the estate. What a way to start day one!
It did not take long to notice the ambience and the tranquility of this clean and wel l groomed estate--lush green, full of natural beauty! We did a lot of walking and noticed the abundance of wildlife: guinea hens,peacocks,egyptian geese,emus,ducks,and yes a herd of Impalas plus of course vast variety of colorful singing birds.
The on sight amenities included 3 large swimming pools, mini golf,games room,restaurant,laundry facility and a lake stocked with fish all located on the banks of Crocodile River. I might add that the housekeeping and the security were second to none.
We were able to take in many day trips from the Lodge because of its central location.: Ukutula lions game farm.Dewildt Cheetah Research Center,Cradle of human kind,Inyoni Croc. farm,Pilanesberg national game reserve,Sun City,Pretoria and Joberg to name a few.
We don't buy the hype about the dangers of South Africa, we never felt threatened.
The sound of the African nights and waking up in the mornings to the sun and hearing the singing of the many colorful birds will be forever etched in our hearts.
Would we go back to Mount Amanzi and Souh Africa?
